Akihiro Gono participated in a 4-man qualification tournament on the 29th in Japan. The winner of the tournament will get a spot as the Japanese representative in a tournament in THAI FIGHT in Thailand later this year. Gono made 70kg this time (he missed weight and looked very bad physically at the weigh-ins for his Kick return fight against Yuya Yamamoto in Krush) and fought a total of six rounds, winning the semifinal and final by unanimous decision.
